Motion Designer

Hi!

My work in motion design ranges from creating illustration for ad campaigns to producing 2D/3D animations for online productions and broadcast advertisement. I love to combine my skills as an illustrator with 2D and 3D computer animation techniques to put graphics in motion and create stunning artwork.

I’d like to see myself as a generalist in the fact that I’m proficient in all aspects of animation production. From script to storyboarding and from conceptual design all the way up to animation and video compositing. So the tools I use and the people I work with are very diverse.

The Fairground

After spending almost 3 years working as a freelance promo producer for MTV Networks (currently a Viacom company) in the Netherlands, creating promos and short form content, it was time for me to move on. So in 2006 I started this company. It opened the doors for everyone who liked my work to come up to me and it allowed me to show my full potential in creating designs for a variety of media. The motion design business always seemed to me like a funfair, with it’s shiny attractions and prizes to win, so came about: The Fairground.

Skills

Conceptual Design

I’ve helped to create striking artwork for all kinds of commercial agencies and clients like Red Bull, MTV, RTL Nederland, KLM and Disney.

Storyboarding

I’ve worked as a storyboard artist on all kinds of broadcast and feature film projects , either to pre-visualize storytelling or to support a creative pitch. In working with several DOPs and directors, I’ve gained a lot of knowledge on camera directing and story development.

Illustration and Graphic Design

My drawing and design skills have been very useful in designing still images too. I’ve created illustrations and designs for logos, websites, advertisements and film posters.

Animation

I can add experience in a range of 2D and 3D animation software like After Effects, Toon Boom Harmony and Autodesk Maya to set things in motion.
